The Azerbaijan eVisa for Hungarian citizens is available online. Hungary is on Azerbaijan’s eVisa list, so a Hungarian passport holder can apply from home and receive the visa by email, with nothing stuck into the passport.

Visa rules for Hungarian passport holders
Hungarians do need a visa for Azerbaijan. The temporary visa-free arrangements Azerbaijan currently offers cover eight other countries, not Hungary, so the visa has to be in place before departure — and because Hungary is on the eVisa list, the online route is the simplest way to get it.
Applying from Budapest or from abroad
Where you apply from makes no difference. A Hungarian citizen in Budapest, Debrecen or London fills in the same form and receives the same visa, because eligibility is set by nationality. If you live in Hungary on another country’s passport, your own nationality decides: check it on the eligible countries list. Our Azerbaijan eVisa page gives the wider picture.
Entering your details exactly
Most avoidable delays come from small mismatches. Type every name, passport number and date exactly as printed in the passport, and read them back before you move on: once the application has been processed, the details cannot be changed. The passport itself must remain valid for at least 180 days, and you will need a clear scan of its data page, your travel dates, your address in Azerbaijan and an email address you check. What you need to apply has the full rules.
How long the Azerbaijan eVisa for Hungarian citizens lasts
Two numbers matter here. The visa remains valid for 90 days, and you may stay up to 30 days on it — a 90-day visa never means 90 days in the country. Duration of stay explains what applies when the permitted period runs out.
Registering a longer stay
If you plan to spend more than 15 days in Azerbaijan, you need to be registered at the address where you stay. At a hotel this goes through the management; in a rented flat, through the owner. No state fee is charged. Moving to a new address means registering again within 5 working days of arriving there. The migration rules give the official wording.
Speed and price
Standard handling of the Azerbaijan eVisa for Hungarian citizens takes 3 working days and costs USD 59 for each traveller; urgent handling takes 3 hours and costs USD 130 for each traveller. A family of three on standard handling therefore pays USD 177, and the total is displayed before payment. The charge itself is made in Azerbaijani manat (AZN). Refunds and the official portal’s fees are explained on the fee page.
Azerbaijan’s embassy in Budapest
You will not need the embassy for an eVisa. The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Budapest is at Budapest 1067, Eotvos str.14 (budapest.mfa.gov.az). It handles other kinds of visa and consular questions, and its phone and email are on our Azerbaijan embassies page.
Printing and carrying the eVisa
When a result is recorded we send a secure link from which the issued eVisa can be downloaded. Print it, keep a copy on your phone as a backup, and show it at the border together with the passport you applied with.
Applying for the Azerbaijan eVisa for Hungarian citizens
One form covers the trip and every traveller. Add the travellers one by one with their scans, check the summary page and pay; we review the application before submission and contact you if anything needs correcting. Your reference, in the form AZ-0000-000000, lets you check the status at any time together with your email address. Start your application when you are ready, or read the FAQ first.
