This guide follows an Azerbaijan eVisa application from start to finish: what to have ready before you open the form, what you are asked for at each stage, how payment works, and what arrives once a decision has been made. It describes applying through this service.
Before you start your Azerbaijan eVisa application
Most trouble comes from something that was missing before the form was opened. Have ready a valid passport, a clear scan of its photo page, your travel dates, the address where you will be staying, and an email address you can actually access — that is where everything about the application is sent. What you need to apply sets out the document rules in full, including accepted file formats. Step 1: Complete your application details
You complete one form. Select the nationality shown in the passport you will actually travel on — if you hold two, that is the one to use, not necessarily the one you think of as your main nationality. Enter every name, number and date exactly as it appears in the passport. Once an application has been processed the details submitted cannot be changed, so it is worth reading them back before you move on.
One application can cover a single traveller or a family of up to ten. Every traveller on it — including children and infants — needs their own passport details and their own passport scan, and every traveller receives their own eVisa. You add them one at a time and upload a document for each.
Step 2: Check your passport before applying
A passport is the only travel document accepted for an Azerbaijan eVisa. Before submitting, confirm three things: it is valid for at least 180 days — six months — measured from the day you enter Azerbaijan; it has at least one blank page kept free for the border officer; and it is the same passport you will carry on the trip. Applying on one passport and travelling on another invalidates the visa, and that is the most expensive mistake available at this stage. Step 3: Pay the Azerbaijan eVisa fee online
Payment is made online as part of the application, once the details and documents are in. Through this service an application costs USD 59 for standard processing or USD 130 for urgent processing — a single total covering the whole application rather than a charge per traveller. Work begins once the payment has cleared, so an application that has not been paid for is not yet in progress. Step 4: Receive your application confirmation
After payment you are emailed confirmation that the application exists and has been paid for. We check what you have sent before it is submitted and come back to you if a document will not pass or something is missing. Standard processing takes 3 working days and urgent processing takes 3 hours. Those describe the processing option you chose, not the decision itself — that is made by the Azerbaijani authorities.
Step 5: Receive and keep your approved eVisa
When there is a result we email you a secure link. Opening it shows the outcome for everyone on the application and lets you download any document that was issued. Print the approved eVisa and carry the printout, and keep a copy on your phone as a practical backup. You present it together with the passport you applied on.
