If you hold a Czech passport, Azerbaijan’s eVisa is open to you and can be arranged from home. The Azerbaijan eVisa for Czech citizens takes one online form and one payment, and the approved visa arrives by email as a secure download link.

Czechia, the Czech Republic and the nationality list
Czechia is not among the eight countries that currently have a temporary visa-free arrangement with Azerbaijan, so Czech travellers need a visa, and it is on the eVisa list, so that visa can be requested online. When the form asks for nationality, choose Czechia: the list uses the country’s short official name, not “Czech Republic”, but both mean the same passport. Friends travelling on other passports can look up their own country on the eligible countries list, and the Azerbaijan eVisa overview explains the electronic visa as a whole.
Different surnames in one family
Czech surnames usually change form for women, so a family can travel as Novák and Nováková on the same trip. That is no obstacle when applying for the Azerbaijan eVisa for Czech citizens. One application holds up to ten travellers, and each one is entered separately with their own nationality, surname, given names, occupation, home address, passport number and expiry date, copied from their own passport. Nothing on the form asks how the travellers are related or expects them to share a surname, and each person receives a separate eVisa.
Before you open the form
Check the expiry date first: the passport must still be valid for at least 180 days on the day you arrive in Azerbaijan. Then have ready a scan of its data page for every traveller, your arrival date, the address where you will stay and an email address you read regularly. What you need to apply explains which scans are accepted and why a blurred or cropped one is sent back.
The 90-day window and the 30-day limit
An issued eVisa remains valid for 90 days. Within that window you may spend up to 30 days in Azerbaijan, which suits a city break in Baku or a longer tour of the regions, but not a stay of two months. If you remain more than 15 days you must be registered at your place of stay; the migration rules cover how that works, and duration of stay explains what happens when the 30 days run out.
Choosing a processing speed
Standard processing for the Azerbaijan eVisa for Czech citizens takes 3 working days; urgent processing takes 3 hours. Standard needs your arrival to be at least 4 days after the day you apply, whereas urgent will accept an arrival that same day. Apart from speed and price, the two options are handled identically.
Paying for the Azerbaijan eVisa for Czech citizens
Each traveller costs USD 59 on standard processing or USD 130 on urgent processing. A family of four applying together on standard therefore pays USD 236 in total, which the review page confirms before payment. The charge itself is made in Azerbaijani manat (AZN), and the dollar figures are for orientation; the fee page sets out what can be refunded and what the official portal charges on its own.
Azerbaijan’s embassy in Prague and the consulate in Karlovy Vary
Neither office is involved in an eVisa. The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Prague, at Na Zatorce 783/17, Praha 6-Bubeneč, runs a consular department and publishes its information at prague.mfa.gov.az. The embassy deals with other visa categories, for example when a trip needs more than the eVisa’s 30 days, and with consular matters; an honorary consulate in Karlovy Vary is a further point of contact in the west of the country. Addresses, phone numbers and email addresses for both are listed under Czech Republic on our Azerbaijan embassies page.
Submitting and receiving the eVisa
Once every traveller and scan is on the form, you check the summary page and pay. We review the application before it goes to the official portal, and if a detail does not match a passport or a scan is unreadable, we contact you before submitting it. The Azerbaijani authorities make the decision; when they do, an email brings a secure link from which each traveller’s eVisa can be downloaded. Print it and keep it with the passport it belongs to. Start your application for the Azerbaijan eVisa for Czech citizens once your travel dates are clear.
