Estonian citizens, not the grey passport

This page is for Estonian citizens travelling on an Estonian passport. Estonia is on the eVisa list and is not one of the eight countries with a temporary visa-free arrangement, so a visa is needed and it can be requested online. Residents of Estonia who hold the grey alien’s passport are not Estonian citizens, so this does not automatically apply to them; they should ask the embassy in Tallinn what applies before planning a trip. Anyone travelling on another country’s passport can check it on the eligible countries list, and the Azerbaijan eVisa overview explains the electronic visa in general.

Getting the documents ready

An application for the Azerbaijan eVisa for Estonian citizens needs, for each traveller, a passport that stays valid for at least 180 days beyond the date you enter Azerbaijan and a clear scan of its data page. For the trip you give an arrival date, the place where you will stay and an email address that every message will go to. What you need to apply describes the accepted scan formats in detail.

Validity and the 30-day limit

An issued eVisa remains usable for 90 days, but a visit under it may not exceed 30 days. If you plan to be in Azerbaijan for more than 15 days, you also need to be registered at the address where you stay; the migration rules set out the procedure, and duration of stay explains the limits.

Processing and price of the Azerbaijan eVisa for Estonian citizens

There are two speeds. Standard takes 3 working days and needs an arrival date at least 4 days after you apply; urgent takes 3 hours and allows arrival on the day of application. The price applies to each traveller, USD 59 on standard and USD 130 on urgent, so four travellers on urgent pay USD 520 in total. The amount is charged in Azerbaijani manat (AZN), the dollar figures are for information, and the fee page shows what can be refunded.

What each stage asks of you

Once payment has cleared, we review the application and then submit it to the official portal. While it is submitted or processing there is nothing for you to do unless we contact you; if a detail or scan has to be fixed, the status changes to additional information required and the email tells you what to send. When the status reaches completed, a result has been recorded for every traveller, and your status link shows each result and lets you download any eVisa that was issued. Check your application status explains every stage and how to get a fresh status link with your reference and email address.

The embassy in Tallinn

An eVisa never requires a visit to the embassy. The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Tallinn, at Pirita tee 20T, publishes its information at tallinn.mfa.gov.az and deals with other visa categories, such as stays beyond 30 days, and with consular matters; it is also the place to ask if you travel on a grey alien’s passport. Its phone number and email address are on our Azerbaijan embassies page.

Starting the application
