Citizens of Turkmenistan can apply for Azerbaijan’s visa online, whether the trip is to visit relatives, for work meetings or for a holiday. The Azerbaijan eVisa for Turkmen citizens is requested on one form for up to ten travellers, and the issued visa arrives by email as a secure download link.

Turkmen passports and the eVisa
Turkmenistan has no visa-free arrangement with Azerbaijan; the eight temporary ones currently in force cover other countries. Turkmen citizens can, however, use the electronic route, so the whole visa is handled online without a consulate visit. Relatives or colleagues with other passports can see on the eligible countries list whether they can do the same, and our Azerbaijan eVisa page describes the electronic visa itself.
Filling in the trip details
The first part of the form for the Azerbaijan eVisa for Turkmen citizens describes the trip, and two fields catch people out. The contact telephone number must be entered in international format with the country code, so a Turkmen mobile number starts with +993; a number without it is rejected. The accommodation field is free text: give the hotel’s name and address, or the full address of the relatives or friends you will stay with. You also choose the purpose of visit, the processing speed and your arrival date, and give an email address that will receive every message about the application.
Passport and scan for each traveller
Each person is then entered from their own passport. That passport has to have 180 days or more left on it after arrival in Azerbaijan, and its data page must be scanned clearly enough for every line to be read; what you need to apply lists the accepted file types and the usual reasons for a rescan.
The 30-day stay within 90 days of validity
An issued Azerbaijan eVisa for Turkmen citizens is valid for 90 days and permits a stay of no more than 30 days in that time, which matters for long family visits. Anyone staying longer than 15 days must be registered at the home or hotel where they stay, as the migration rules explain, and duration of stay covers what to do if you hope to remain past day thirty.
Choosing standard or urgent for the Azerbaijan eVisa for Turkmen citizens
A trip planned more than a few days ahead can use standard processing, which takes 3 working days and requires an arrival date at least 4 days after the day you apply; urgent processing, at 3 hours, accepts an arrival the same day. Whichever you pick covers everyone on the application. A family of eight on standard pays USD 472, that is USD 59 a person, while urgent is USD 130 a person. The amount is charged in Azerbaijani manat (AZN), the dollars are a guide, and the fee page covers refunds.
The Ashgabat embassy, which also covers Afghanistan
You do not need to go to the embassy for an eVisa. The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Ashgabat, on Prosvesheniye street, handles other visa categories and consular matters and publishes its information at ashgabat.mfa.gov.az. It is also accredited to Afghanistan; Afghanistan is not on the eVisa list, so Afghan citizens cannot use this form and should ask the embassy instead. Phone numbers and the email address are listed under Turkmenistan on our Azerbaijan embassies page.
Submitting, deciding, downloading
Once you have paid, our team reviews everything, raises any problem with a scan or detail, and then sends the application to the official portal. The decision belongs to the Azerbaijani authorities. When it is made, you receive an email with a secure link for downloading each eVisa, which should be printed and carried with the matching passport. Between those steps, your reference and email address on check your application status will bring you a fresh status link. Start your application for the Azerbaijan eVisa for Turkmen citizens when the dates are fixed; the FAQ covers other common questions.
