Dutch citizens apply for Azerbaijan’s visa entirely online and never need to visit the embassy in The Hague. The Azerbaijan eVisa for Dutch citizens can cover one person or a party of up to ten on the same form, and each approved eVisa reaches you by email, behind a secure link.

A visa is required on a Dutch passport
The Netherlands is not one of the eight countries whose citizens can currently enter Azerbaijan without a visa, so a Dutch traveller always needs one. It does appear among the nationalities that can apply electronically, which means no appointment, no consulate queue and no passport sent off by post. The Azerbaijan eVisa page explains the electronic visa in general, and the eligible countries list lets you look up a companion’s nationality.
Passports from Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten
The Kingdom of the Netherlands has a single nationality, so a passport issued in Aruba, Curaçao or Sint Maarten is a Dutch passport, and its holder applies exactly like someone from Rotterdam or Utrecht. The nationality list on our form has no separate entry for the three islands: choose Netherlands. Dutch citizens from Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba make the same choice. Nationality is set for each traveller on their own, so a partner from Belgium or Luxembourg simply picks that country instead; both are on the eVisa list as well.
Passport, scan, phone and address
Every passport in the party has to stay valid for at least 180 days after the day you land in Azerbaijan, and the application needs a clear scan of each photo page. For the trip you give the arrival date, the hotel or private address where you will sleep, an email address you read and a phone number in international format: a Dutch mobile number starting 06 is entered as +31 6 followed by the other eight digits. Having all of this ready before you begin the Azerbaijan eVisa for Dutch citizens saves a return to the form later, and what you need to apply lists the scan files we accept.
What the 90 and 30 days mean
Two periods are worth keeping apart. The eVisa is valid for 90 days, and inside that time it lets you spend up to 30 days in Azerbaijan. Anyone staying more than 15 days must also be registered at their address in the country; the migration rules page covers how that works, and duration of stay describes the options when the 30 days are about to run out.
Standard, urgent and the cost of the Azerbaijan eVisa for Dutch citizens
The speed is picked once and applies to everyone on the application. Standard processing is finished within 3 working days and is open to you when you arrive at least 4 days after the day you apply; urgent processing is finished within 3 hours and suits even a flight that lands the same day. Each traveller costs USD 59 on standard or USD 130 on urgent, which comes to USD 531 for a party of nine on standard. Payment is taken in Azerbaijani manat, AZN 100.30 or AZN 221.00 a head, and the dollar figures are only a guide; the fee page shows how the amount is made up and which part can be refunded.
Azerbaijan’s embassy and OPCW mission in The Hague
Nothing in the eVisa process involves the embassy. The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, at Andries Bickerweg 6 in The Hague, also serves as Azerbaijan’s Permanent Representation to the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons, whose headquarters are in the same city. It publishes its consular information at thehague.mfa.gov.az, and its address and phone number are listed under the Netherlands on our Azerbaijan embassies page.
After payment: checks, decision and download
Once you have paid, our team reads through every traveller’s details and gets in touch if a name, scan or date has to be corrected; the application goes to the official portal only after that check. The Azerbaijani authorities decide on the visa. When their decision is in, an email brings a secure link to each eVisa: print every one and keep it with the passport it belongs to. Entering your reference and email address on check your application status sends you a new status link at any time. When your dates are fixed, start your application for the Azerbaijan eVisa for Dutch citizens; answers to common questions are in the FAQ.
