Sri Lankan passport holders can obtain Azerbaijan’s visa through a single online application, without contacting an embassy. The Azerbaijan eVisa for Sri Lankan citizens covers up to ten travellers on one application and is delivered by email as a secure link once approved.
Sri Lanka and the eVisa
Sri Lankans need a visa to visit Azerbaijan, because visa-free entry is limited to eight countries, but Sri Lanka is on the list of nationalities that can apply electronically. Our eligible countries list shows them all, and the Azerbaijan eVisa page explains the system.
Full names, not initials
Many Sri Lankans use initials in daily life and write a name such as W. A. Perera. The form asks for the surname and the given names exactly as they appear in the passport, so if your passport spells the given names out in full, type them in full rather than as initials. Our team compares each name with the scan of the photo page before anything is submitted.
Travelling with someone on an Indian passport
If someone in your group travels on an Indian passport, they can still share your application, because India is on the eVisa list as well and each person’s nationality is taken from their own passport; our guide for Indian citizens covers their side. Maldivian passports, on the other hand, are not on the form, so a Maldivian companion cannot be added.
Information the Azerbaijan eVisa for Sri Lankan citizens asks for
For each person you give the surname, given names, nationality, travel document type, occupation, home address, passport number and expiry date, and upload a scan of the photo page as a JPG, PNG or PDF no bigger than 8 MB. Each passport must be valid for at least 180 days after arrival in Azerbaijan. The arrival date, accommodation and purpose of travel are entered once for everyone, together with one email address and one phone number. A Sri Lankan mobile number starting 07 is written +94 7 and the remaining digits. See visa requirements for more.
Five travellers and the price per person
Standard processing costs USD 59 per traveller and is completed within 3 working days, with arrival at least 4 days after you apply; urgent processing costs USD 130 and is completed within 3 hours, so it can be used for a flight the same day. A group of five on the Azerbaijan eVisa for Sri Lankan citizens pays USD 295 or USD 650. Payment is taken in Azerbaijani manat, AZN 100.30 or AZN 221.00 per traveller, and the fee page explains which part is refundable.
Ninety-day validity and a thirty-day stay
The visa can be used for 90 days and allows a stay of up to 30 days. Plan for registration at your address if you will be in Azerbaijan for more than 15 days, as set out in migration rules, and remember that the eVisa is not a permit for paid work; anything longer than 30 days is dealt with on duration of stay.
Embassy coverage from New Delhi
There is no Azerbaijani embassy in Colombo. Sri Lanka is covered by Azerbaijan’s embassy in New Delhi, which is also accredited to Nepal, Bangladesh, the Maldives and Bhutan and publishes news on its relations with Sri Lanka at newdelhi.mfa.gov.az. The Azerbaijan eVisa for Sri Lankan citizens does not involve the embassy at all; its address and phone numbers are listed under India on our Azerbaijan embassies page.
Your eVisa by email
Once you have paid, our team checks every entry against the passport scans and asks for corrections where needed; the application is then filed on the official portal, and Azerbaijan’s authorities decide. Approval reaches you as a single email with a secure link for each traveller. Print each traveller’s visa and keep the printout in that person’s passport. Fresh links come from check your application status. When you are ready, start the Azerbaijan eVisa for Sri Lankan citizens on the application form, and see the FAQ for other questions.
