Is a visa needed from Cyprus?

Yes. A Cypriot passport needs a visa for Azerbaijan, because Cyprus is not covered by any of the eight temporary visa-free arrangements, but it is one of the nationalities that can apply electronically. The eligible countries list covers every other nationality, which helps if your group travels on mixed passports, and the Azerbaijan eVisa page sets out how the electronic visa works.

No embassy in Cyprus, and none needed

Azerbaijan does not have an embassy or consulate in Cyprus, and none of its missions abroad lists Cyprus among the countries it covers. For the eVisa that makes no difference: the application, the decision and the download all happen online, and nothing has to be handed in anywhere. For other types of visa, Azerbaijan’s visa rules are published by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Holding a second passport

If you also hold a British or a Greek passport, note that the United Kingdom and Greece are on the eVisa list as well, so either could be used; what matters is that you apply with the passport you will actually show when you enter Azerbaijan, because the eVisa is tied to that passport.

Starting now and finishing later

The form for the Azerbaijan eVisa for Cypriot citizens begins with the trip: purpose of visit, processing speed, arrival date, accommodation and your contact details. Once that first step is saved, we email you the application reference and a link to continue, so you can come back to add the travellers, their passport scans and the payment later. Each passport must stay valid for at least 180 days after you arrive, and what you need to apply lists the scan formats we accept.

One speed for the whole application

On an application for the Azerbaijan eVisa for Cypriot citizens, the processing speed is chosen once and applies to every traveller. Standard takes 3 working days and needs an arrival at least 4 days after the day you apply; urgent takes 3 hours and allows an arrival on the same day. If one person in a group needs urgent processing and the rest do not, they need separate applications. Prices are per traveller, USD 59 for standard and USD 130 for urgent, so seven travellers on urgent pay USD 910. The charge is made in Azerbaijani manat (AZN), the dollar figures are for reference, and the fee page explains refunds.

What the Azerbaijan eVisa for Cypriot citizens allows

Two limits apply: the eVisa itself is valid for 90 days, and within that period you can be in Azerbaijan for at most 30 days. Registration at your address becomes compulsory after 15 days in the country, as the migration rules explain, and duration of stay sets out what happens at the end of the 30 days.

After you pay

Payment hands the application to us: we go through every traveller’s details and scans, raise anything that needs correcting with you, and then submit it to the official portal. The Azerbaijani authorities make the decision. When it is recorded, an email arrives with a secure link where each traveller’s eVisa can be downloaded; print it and keep it with the matching passport.
