French citizens can apply for an Azerbaijan eVisa online. The Azerbaijan eVisa for French citizens involves no embassy visit and no passport sent by post: you apply on one form and download the issued visa from a secure link.

Visa requirement for French travellers
A visa is needed. Azerbaijan’s current temporary visa-free arrangements apply to eight countries and France is not among them, but France is on the eVisa list, so French passport holders can obtain the visa online before leaving.
Who qualifies
Residence plays no part in the decision: the passport you will travel on is what counts. A French passport holder can apply from France or from anywhere else in the world. Someone who lives in France on another country’s passport should look that nationality up on the eligible countries list instead. The Azerbaijan eVisa page explains the visa itself.
What you need before you start
Your French passport must have at least 180 days — six months — of validity left. Have these ready as well:
- a clear scan of the passport’s data page
- your arrival date and the address where you will stay in Azerbaijan
- your purpose of visit
- an email address you check regularly
Each traveller on the application is entered separately, with their own passport scan. What you need to apply sets out the document rules in full, including what makes a scan acceptable.
Validity and length of stay
Within its 90 days of validity the eVisa lets you spend up to 30 days in Azerbaijan; the 30 is the figure to plan around. Duration of stay sets out the rules. Staying beyond 15 days brings a registration requirement at your place of stay, handled through the hotel management or the owner of the flat at no state fee, as the migration rules describe.
Processing time for the Azerbaijan eVisa for French citizens
Choose between 3 working days (standard) and 3 hours (urgent). Work starts once your payment has cleared, so an unpaid application is not yet being processed. The times describe how quickly we handle the application; the visa decision itself is made by the Azerbaijani authorities.
Our fee and the official route
Through this service the Azerbaijan eVisa for French citizens is USD 59 per traveller with standard processing, or USD 130 per traveller with urgent processing; the total for your group is calculated before you pay and charged in Azerbaijani manat (AZN). You can also apply yourself on Azerbaijan’s official eVisa portal, where the charges are a USD 20 state fee plus a USD 9 portal service fee. That route costs less because you prepare and check the application yourself; our price covers that work. The fee page compares the two and explains refunds.
The Azerbaijani embassy in France
An eVisa does not involve the embassy. The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Paris, at 78, Avenue d’Iena 75116 Paris (paris.mfa.gov.az), deals with other types of visa and with consular matters. Its full contact details, together with those of the Azerbaijani missions to the Council of Europe in Strasbourg and to UNESCO in Paris, are on our Azerbaijan embassies page.
