Malaysian citizens can get Azerbaijan’s visa without leaving home. The Azerbaijan eVisa for Malaysian citizens is filled in online, checked by our team, decided by Azerbaijan’s authorities and emailed as a secure link, for up to ten people on one application.

Malaysia and Azerbaijan’s visa rules
Malaysians need a visa for Azerbaijan, since only eight countries currently enjoy visa-free entry, but Malaysia is among the nationalities that can apply electronically. Our eligible countries list shows all of them, and the Azerbaijan eVisa page covers the general rules.
Travelling with friends from elsewhere in ASEAN
Several of Malaysia’s neighbours can use the eVisa as well: Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei Darussalam and Viet Nam are all on the list, so a mixed group can travel on one application, each person with their own nationality and passport. Each companion is added as a separate traveller with their own passport scan, and the price is the same whatever the nationality. Philippine and Myanmar passports are not on the form, so companions holding them cannot be added, and their entry rules need checking separately.
Preparing the Azerbaijan eVisa for Malaysian citizens
Check the expiry date first: every Malaysian passport on the application has to remain valid until at least 180 days after you land in Azerbaijan. Then gather a clear image of each photo page, in JPG, PNG or PDF form and no heavier than 8 MB. On the form itself, each person gets their own entry with surname, given names, nationality, travel document type, occupation, home address, passport number and expiry, all copied from the passport. Trip-level questions come once: when you arrive, where you will stay and why you are going, plus one email address and one phone number for the group. Malaysian mobiles begin with 01, so drop that 0 and add +60, as in +60 12 followed by the remaining digits. Full guidance is on visa requirements.
Four travellers, two processing speeds
Two speeds are offered, and the one you pick applies to the whole group. Standard takes up to 3 working days and is open to arrivals at least 4 days after the application date; urgent takes up to 3 hours and can even cover a flight later that day. At USD 59 or USD 130 per traveller, the Azerbaijan eVisa for Malaysian citizens comes to USD 236 or USD 520 for a group of four, charged in Azerbaijani manat at AZN 100.30 or AZN 221.00 each. Children pay the adult rate, so a couple with two children counts as four travellers. Refund details are on the fee page.
How the 90 and 30 days work
Validity runs for 90 days, and within it you may spend up to 30 days in Azerbaijan. Staying beyond 15 days triggers address registration, described on the migration rules page, while options past 30 days are on duration of stay.
Lot 589, Taman Ampang Utama
Azerbaijan’s embassy for Malaysia is at Lot 589, Jalan 6, Taman Ampang Utama, in Ampang, Selangor, and is also accredited to Brunei Darussalam and Myanmar; Thailand has been covered by a separate Azerbaijani embassy in Bangkok since December 2025. You will not need it for the Azerbaijan eVisa for Malaysian citizens. For other visas and consular matters it publishes its information at kualalumpur.mfa.gov.az, and its contact details are under Malaysia on our Azerbaijan embassies page.
After you submit and pay
