With a Swedish passport you can get Azerbaijan’s visa through a single online application, without going to the embassy in Stockholm. The Azerbaijan eVisa for Swedish citizens is issued electronically and sent to you by email, and one application can hold up to ten travellers.

Sweden on the electronic visa list
Swedes do need a visa for Azerbaijan, because only eight countries’ citizens are exempt, yet Sweden is one of the nationalities that can obtain it electronically. All of them appear on the eligible countries list, and the basics of the system are on the Azerbaijan eVisa page.
Travelling with Norwegians, Danes, Finns or Icelanders
Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland are on the eVisa list as well, so a mixed Nordic group can travel on one application of up to ten people, each person entered with their own nationality and passport. Azerbaijan’s embassy in Stockholm is also accredited to Finland and Norway, which is why our guide for Finnish citizens points to the same embassy, while Denmark and Iceland are covered from London.
Å, ä and ö in names
Swedish letters cause no trouble on our form: the surname and given name fields accept å, ä and ö, so Åsa Öberg can be typed exactly as her passport prints it. The machine-readable lines at the bottom of the photo page spell these letters differently, for example OE for Ö, and our team compares every name with the passport scan before the application is submitted, so a mismatch is caught early.
What the form asks about each traveller
For the Azerbaijan eVisa for Swedish citizens, every person is entered with surname, given names, nationality, type of travel document, occupation, home address, passport number and passport expiry date, together with a clear scan of the photo page as a JPG, PNG or PDF of up to 8 MB. There is no field for the Swedish personal identity number. The passport must remain valid for at least 180 days after you arrive. The arrival date, the accommodation, the purpose of the trip, the email address and the phone number are given once for the whole group; a Swedish mobile number beginning 07 is written as +46 7 followed by the rest. Visa requirements goes into more detail.
Price of the Azerbaijan eVisa for Swedish citizens
Each traveller pays USD 59 for standard processing, completed within 3 working days, or USD 130 for urgent processing, completed within 3 hours, and the choice applies to the entire application. For seven people that comes to USD 413 or USD 910. The card is charged in manat: AZN 100.30 or AZN 221.00 per person. Standard requires an arrival date at least 4 days after you apply, while urgent suits an arrival on the very same day. Refund rules are on the fee page.
Using the visa: 90, 30 and 15 days
The eVisa can be used for 90 days and lets you stay for up to 30 days. Spending more than 15 days in Azerbaijan means registering your address, as set out in migration rules, and ways to extend a stay are under duration of stay.
The embassy on Barnhusgatan
You will not need the embassy for the Azerbaijan eVisa for Swedish citizens. The Embassy of Azerbaijan on Barnhusgatan in Stockholm deals with other visa types and consular matters and publishes its information at stockholm.mfa.gov.az. Its phone numbers and email addresses are listed under Sweden on our Azerbaijan embassies page.
Once you have paid
Our team checks the application after payment, writes to you if a name, a scan or a date needs correcting, and then submits it to the official portal, where Azerbaijan’s authorities decide. Approval arrives as an email with a secure link to each traveller’s eVisa, which should be printed and carried with that person’s passport. A fresh link can be requested through check your application status. When your travel dates are set, the online form is where the Azerbaijan eVisa for Swedish citizens begins, and the FAQ covers the rest.
