Algerian citizens can request Azerbaijan’s visa from Algiers, Oran or anywhere else with an internet connection. The Azerbaijan eVisa for Algerian citizens is filed online with no embassy appointment, one form can carry up to ten travellers, and the visa is emailed to you once it has been approved.

An Algerian passport needs a visa, and the eVisa is open to it
Only eight nationalities can currently enter Azerbaijan without a visa, and Algeria is not one of them. Algerian citizens are, however, on the eVisa list, so the visa can be arranged without leaving home. On this site the Azerbaijan eVisa page explains how the electronic visa works and the eligible countries list shows which other nationalities can use it; other types of visa are described by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its visa page.
Arabic names in Latin letters
A name that comes from Arabic can be written in Latin letters in several ways, and families often settle on different spellings. The form needs the one in your passport, copied letter for letter: Mohamed stays Mohamed rather than becoming Mohammed, and a surname printed as Benali is not split into Ben Ali. Where the passport shows a surname of two words, keep both, in the same order. Before anything is sent on, our team compares every name with the passport scan.
Algerian and French passports
If you hold both an Algerian and a French passport, note that France is on the eVisa list too, so either passport could be used. The eVisa is issued for one specific passport, though, and the nationality you pick, the passport number and the scan must all come from the document you will show at the border in Azerbaijan. Apply for the Azerbaijan eVisa for Algerian citizens only if the Algerian passport is the one you will travel on; for the French one, see our page for French citizens.
Passport validity, scan and a phone number
Each passport must still be valid 180 days after your arrival date, and every traveller needs a readable scan of the photo page. You will also be asked for the date you arrive, where you are staying (a hotel name or an address), an email address and a phone number written in international format, so an Algerian mobile goes in with +213 in front and without the leading 0. Before you start the Azerbaijan eVisa for Algerian citizens, look at what you need to apply for the scan files the form takes.
Thirty days in the country, ninety days of validity
The eVisa stays valid for 90 days, and within that window it allows a stay of up to 30 days. Plans longer than 15 days bring one extra step: you must be registered at your address in Azerbaijan, as set out under migration rules. If you need to remain beyond the 30 days, duration of stay explains what can be done.
Fees and processing time for the Azerbaijan eVisa for Algerian citizens
You choose between two speeds for the application as a whole. Standard is ready within 3 working days and requires an arrival date at least 4 days after you apply; urgent is ready within 3 hours and accepts an arrival on the same day. The fee is charged per traveller, USD 59 for standard and USD 130 for urgent, so a family of five pays USD 295 on standard or USD 650 on urgent. Amounts are taken in Azerbaijani manat (AZN 100.30 and AZN 221.00), with the dollar figures as a guide, and the fee page details the part that is refundable.
Azerbaijan’s embassy in Algiers, also covering Tunisia
An eVisa application never passes through the embassy. The Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Algiers, on Abu Nuwas street, is also accredited to Tunisia. Tunisia is not on the eVisa list, so a Tunisian member of your group cannot be added to this application and should contact the embassy about a visa. The embassy’s address and phone numbers are listed under Algeria on our Azerbaijan embassies page.
Review, submission and the emailed eVisa
After payment, a member of our team goes through the whole application and writes to you if a name, a scan or a date needs fixing; it is submitted to the official portal only when everything matches. Whether the visa is granted is decided by the Azerbaijani authorities; once it is, you receive an email with a secure link to every traveller’s eVisa; print each one and carry it with the passport it was issued for. A fresh status link can be requested at any time by entering your reference and email address on check your application status. Start your application for the Azerbaijan eVisa for Algerian citizens when your travel dates are settled, and see the FAQ for other questions.
